Marrero Cruz urges to plan the budget for municipal development

The plan and budget must correspond to the municipal development strategy, said today Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of Cuba, during the XVI ordinary session of the Assembly of People's Power of Gibara (AMPP), where he analyzed the projections for 2025.
In a meeting with 92 delegates from Gibara, Marrero Cruz insisted that the real needs of the inhabitants must be taken into account when preparing a plan that will influence their living conditions, where the potential of the territory must also be identified in order to increase the income that reverts to popular well-being.
The increase in food production and the improvement of the conditions of water supply to the population were modular themes among which the growth in the cultivation of fruits, vegetables and grains stood out as the main premise in order to achieve local self-sufficiency, cost reduction and contribution to the standard family basket.
The approved budget's priorities include the Public Health and Education sectors and social programs, which, with a figure of over 66 million pesos, are directed to continue the construction of the Doctor Gustavo Aldereguía General Hospital, the Medical Equipment Program, and progress in the Housing Program.
In this regard, he explained that due to the high prices of materials and the hiring of private companies to carry out some of these tasks, the amount allocated does not completely satisfy the requirements of the territory, which is why it is necessary to establish a standardized rate in the country that offers a solution.
In addition, among the projected lines of work, the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba also pointed out that the proposals made in the process of accountability assemblies, the increase in income with the use of raw materials and increasing physical production beyond retail trade cannot be ignored.
On the other hand, based on the weaknesses detected in 2024, the objectives for the current period remain the continuation of the change in the energy matrix with the use of renewable sources, the control of inflationary free market prices by the new players in the economy and the elimination of tax evasion crimes.
