Accompanied by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, domestic trade, the food industry and other national organizations, the debate focused on the results concerning the measures to guarantee milk and meat.
In this regard, it was learned that 6 municipalities were exempt from the consumption of powdered milk and, of more than a thousand warehouses, 107 were partially exempted and 582 were exempted completely.
In this sense, actions in the municipalities must be reinforced for the liquidation of unpaid debts to producers and, consequently, increase the daily delivery levels to the industry.
Valdés Mesa insisted on the need of modifying forms of action and increasing food production in this northeastern territory, which has the land and the conditions to supply Holguín households and increase their contribution, at the country level.
He also recommended an in-depth analysis of the crops in the territories that are more likely to reach a successful harvest, taking into account their particularities and those of the soil, with the aim of increasing current yields.
As for the sugar cane harvest, the actual physical progress is 85.30 percent, with a delay of around 7 days, and on the subject, some problems were mentioned whose solution has occupied the workers, related to the mills, other parts and technical issues.
The Cuban vice president insisted on the need to modify ways of acting, taking into account the complexities of the context, to achieve better results that lead to territorial development.
