In Holguín, tribute to the undefeated leader Fidel Castro

As part of the activities for the 98th anniversary of the birth of the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz on August 13, historians and scholars of his work will complete a series of lectures on the life and work of the most important Latin American leader of the last century.
Convened by the Honorary Chair of Thought and Work of Fidel Castro, of the University of Holguín, since last Monday the 5th, La Periquera History Museum of the city of Holguín hosts the colloquium with the lecture “Fidel and the Moncada: dismantling the manipulation”, by Doctor Alexander Abreu, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University.
Until August 12, lectures will include topics such as: “The meaning of life in Fidel Castro”, by Dr. Amarilis Batista and “Fidel, forger of unity”, by Lic. Eduardo González. Master Reynaldo Martínez will discuss “Fidel and his conception of the development of science in Cuba”; Master Rita Borges will present “A testimony about Fidel: The Che Guevara internationalist detachment”; Colonel Oscar Larralde will discuss “The humanism of Fidel Castro” and Master Olga Lidia Peña will share her reflections on “The imprint of Fidel Castro on Cuban education”.
Dr. Amarilis Batista said to the local newspaper ¡ahora! that these actions are also part of the program for the centenary of the Historic Leader of the Cuban Revolution, in August 2026, which includes the call to university professors and students to pay tribute to Fidel through research and academia, but also with university outreach activities and volunteer work, guided by the phrase: Cuba, what would become of you if you let the ideas of Fidel Castro die?
The also president of the Honorary Chair of Thought and Work of Fidel Castro added that one of the main objectives of these tribute activities is to dismantle the media manipulations around the figure of Fidel and the Cuban Revolution.
