The Holguín tourist pole is considered one of the most prominent in Cuba and, given its potential; it is destined to become an important development center.
According to Francisco Suárez, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in this territory, the natural, cultural and human benefits make this eastern region an attractive destination for national and foreign visitors.
Holguín is perhaps the tourist hub with the greatest prospect of expansion. Its hotel plant of almost eight thousand rooms – all four and five stars – has the purpose of growing to 30 thousand in the next seven years, a broad investment process that if achieved would greatly transform the socioeconomic scenario of the province with improvements in infrastructure, communication, urban development and expansion of services.
In fact, the investment program in El Ramón de Antilla, where it is planned to build more than 19 thousand rooms in the long term, is a good example of how tourism activity favors its community environment, as the growth of tourism fosters greater employment opportunities, productive chains and local development projects.
More than 57 kilometers of beach make this province a favored sun and beach destination, which also has an ideal coastline for sport fishing and nautical and diving activities.
Among other attractions, this territory has more than 27 immersion areas, with more than 350 kilometers of beach, and a human capital that supports the entire tourist operation, said Francisco Suárez.
This region stands out for its nature, city, history and culture attractions that favor its sustainability. (Source: Prensa Latina and Radio Angulo)
