Parliamentary visit concludes in Holguín

The approved policy for prevention and social care; compliance with the directives aimed at combating crime, corruption and illegalities; The assessment of the organization to correct distortions and boost the Cuban economy were core issues addressed by Esteban Lazo Hernández, President of the National Assembly of People's Power in the parliamentary visit to the province of Holguín.
The also member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) was accompanied by Homero Acosta Álvarez, secretary of Parliament, Arelis Marrero Guerrero, member of the Central Committee of the PCC and the provincial bureau of the Party in Holguín and Manuel Hernández Aguilera Governor of the territory.
At the meeting, political and government authorities from the 14 municipalities exchanged via videoconference, who responded to the parliamentary president on the actions that will provide solutions to problems that affect government management in accordance with the population's proposals, a priority task in the country.
The delegation visited schools, production and service centers and held exchanges with residents in different popular councils.
During the meeting, Lazo recalled that nickel production in the municipality of Moa is not only decisive for the province but also for the rest of the nation.
Regarding milk production for social consumption in the Holguín dairy industry, Lazo Hernández insisted on increasing contracts with producers and called to strictly confront violations by farmers who do not contribute to the state with their productions, which is being analyzed in the Council of State to eliminate these distortions.
Likewise, the business indicators of the budget in the province corresponding to the first quarter of 2024 were evaluated with the main group of the economy.
The selected physical production of 284 products is not met by 97 and decreases by 133 compared to the same period of the previous year and the main companies that affect this result belong to the agricultural sector. In this indicator, net sales are not met by more than 3 billion pesos, foreign currency income is not met by 95 million, and business profits are not met by more than 3.3 billion pesos.
In relation to exports of a total of 28 rubles, 7 are breached with an impact of 95 million dollars on the country's economy. Among them scrap metal, shrimp, nickel and twisted tobacco.
