Holguín hosts 9th Colloquium José Juan Arrom

The 9th Colloquium José Juan Arrom takes place on April 2 and 3 at the Natural History Museum of the city of Holguín, with the aim to debate and increase knowledge on the world of caves.
Convened by the provincial Speleological Committee, the Speleological Society of Cuba, in co-sponsorship with the Friends of the Country Economic Society, the Territorial Delegation of Citma and other cultural and scientific institutions, the event includes presentations by local researchers, specialists and students.
Geospeleology, palentelogy, archaeology, planning and management of speleological tourism and general biospeleology, are among the issues addressed by personalities from the scientific community attending the event.
According to Juan José Guarch Rodríguez, specialist at the Central Eastern Department of Archeology of Citma in Holguín the master lectures focus on topics such as caves in Holguín, the most important archaeological works and rock art in the province, among others.
The colloquium aims to to lay the foundations for the International Congress of Speleology "85th Anniversary of the Speleological Society of Cuba", to be held at the beginning of the year 2025, in the Holguín municipality of Gibara.
