With growth contributed by the entry into operation of the hotel plant at the Los Bajos beach, Campismo Popular in Holguín showed the largest development program in the country during the year 2023.

In statements to ACN, Carlos Toledo Armas, provincial director of the company, said that the territory has a plant of 169 cabins and 230 tents, although not all of them are available, for a capacity of 1,814 guests, of which 674 in rooms and 1,140 in tents.

He highlighted among the main results of the entity, a pioneer in the digital online reservation platform developed by the Defense Information Technology Company Xetid, the income of more than 144 thousand pesos through this channel, while through the use of the QR code of the Transfermóvil and Enzona application, more than three million were collected.

Regarding the consatruction of the new camping bases, Toledo Armas recognized that, based on the progressive deterioration of the tents, made with materials not compatible with the rigors of the tropical climate, they are working on alternatives for durable constructions that allow campers to stay throughout the year without difficulties due to weather conditions.

The results in import substitution, productive chaining as a way to increase contracting with non-state management forms and the implementation of the Food Sovereignty Program aimed at promoting the circular economy, are some of the actions that will continue to be carried out during the year 2024, he explained.

After a decision by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, the Campismo development plan on the Holguín coast was approved to reduce indiscipline and provide better services to the people, so the construction of eight new facilities started in 2019, of which three are about to be completed, including Caletones, in the municipality of Gibara; Cayo Guam, in Moa, and Juan Vicente, in Mayarí.
