Prime Minister congratulates Gibara on its 207th anniversary

Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of Cuba, today congratulated the people of Gibara on the 207th anniversary of the founding of the town.
In his X profile, the also deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power for the Holguín municipality of the same name, called to continue working on economic and social development in order to achieve greater prosperity in the territory and expressed his gratitude to that town for welcoming him as a Gibara resident.
Gibara, with an area of 630 square kilometers, was founded on January 16, 1817 and is the head city of the municipality of Gibara, in the province of Holguín.
Declared a National Monument in 2004, by the National Monuments Commission, and permanent headquarters of the Gibara International Film Festival, it has historical, cultural and heritage values, as well as a rich source of traditions and curiosities.
Gibara is a town with a cultural strength, as it has monuments such as the Museum of Natural History, the San Fulgencio Church, the neoclassical mansion in which the Museum of Art and the Museum of Municipal History are based, or the presence of two branch libraries and a third municipal library inaugurated in 1945, the oldest in the province.
