Holguín: Cisat scientific results in 2023 recognized

The Holguín Environmental Services and Research Center (Cisat) received recognition from the Environment Agency in Cuba for the results achieved in 2023 in the participation of events, the increase in the center's intellectual property, scientific production and institutional communication.
Martha Uratsuka, vice president of the Agency, recognized Cisat's progress in this northeastern region in the 2023 performance evaluation assembly, calling on them to continue working for the sustainable development of the country.
Cisat shows scientific results in the implementation of projects related to coastal management, archaeological restoration and impact of climate change, among others, carried out along with the Comprehensive Mountain Research Station in Mayarí and the Holguín Botanical Garden.
This institution is essential in the application of science for the management of the environment and natural resources, both its services and research have a favorable impact on the protection of the environment.
Cisat also promote projects for the exploitation of coral reefs and the control of invasive exotic varieties such as lionfish and other branches such as archaeology.
This center, founded by Rosa Elena Simeón, then Minister of the Environment, influences the resolution of the territory's problems, including desertification, drought, loss of biological biodiversity and pollution. (Source: Radio Angulo)
