Holguín hosts its first fair to promote local productions

The Fair "We promote the local" Holguín 2023, on Thursday opened for the first time at the Expoholguín fairgrounds of this eastern cuban city.
The opening ceremony was attended by Alejandro Gil Fernández, Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba and head of Economy and Planning; Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Holguín and Manuel Hernández Aguilera, Governor of the province , who called this event, as part of the activities in honor of the 65th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution and Economist's Day.
The Fair, which takes place from November 23 to 25, brings together a representation of the mini-industries and MSMEs of the territory in order to show their potential and promote the exchange of experiences, as it constitutes an space for the creation of new strategic alliances between the actors of the local economy, based on productive chains.
In this first edition, it also aims to promote local productions and thereby encourage import substitution and increase exportable funds.
On a tour of the exhibition pavilion, Gil Fernández appreciated the variety of proposals and offers, mostly food, made from the endogenous productions of each territory and exchanged with representatives of local, small and medium-sized enterprises, both from the state and private sectors, as is the case of the La Dueña mini-industry, directed by the agricultural producer Danny Segura Carralero, associated with the CCS Aracelio Iglesias, from Velasco, in the municipality of Gibara, whose productions include pickles, condiments and canned food from the raw materials obtained from the family and agricultural cooperative lands.
The event also includes textile production, furniture and computer and technological services, such as the private MSME Maxtec S.U.R.L. dedicated to sales, rental, installation, repair and maintenance of computer and telecommunications equipment and printing on various materials.
Conferences and panels, as well as the exchange of good practices and the signing of agreements and contracts are also among the activities of the fair.
Neyvis Moreno, president of the organizing committee, said that expoplazas were also prepared in the Garayalde Market, the Agricultural Fair and at the Divep headquarters to market idle and slow-moving products, with the aim of cleaning up the finances of the companies, but also to propose offers that can serve as raw material for the economic actors present at the event.
