To banish inactivity and provide more timely responses, urged Manuel Hernández Aguilera, governor of Holguín in recent Provincial Government Council, in which various economic, political and social issues related to the development of the territory were discussed.

With the presence of Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Holguín, representatives of various organizations analyzed issues such as the housing program, the sovereignty plan, food security and nutritional education, the progress of banking and local development.

Regarding the fulfillment of the housing program, one of the most critical in the territory, since there is a considerable delay in this year's plan due to difficulties with fuel and the lack of construction materials, mainly cement and steel.

About 50 percent of this year's state plan will be part of the planning for the coming 2024, while typology three and four constructions, with less construction complexity, will be planned.

In order to promote the food and nutritional security plan, one of the measures valued in the meeting is aimed at delivering land to young people disengaged from study and work to rescue the necessary workforce required to increase agricultural production.

Regarding local development, it was highlighted the importance of investing in projects that boost the economy and the appropriate use of the budget to strengthen this process.

For his part, Luis Llorente Gutiérrez, provincial director of the Bank of Credit and Commerce (Bandec), explained that in response to the opinions of the population due to the affectations in the extra cash service, measures will be taken to achieve greater control of cash and promote online payment. In the case of MSMEs that do not come to make their deposits and have been warned, they will be proposed to close their bank account.

For his part, the Governor of the province urged to work hard to fulfill the commitments, insisting that solutions must be given, not postponed.
