Government visit to Holguín continues today

The government visit to the province of Holguín continues today in this eastern territory, headed by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic.
During the day, the president is expected to tour different sites in the main municipality, as well as an exchange with students from the University of Holguín.
The Cuban Government authorities will hold meetings with the population, visit vulnerable neighborhoods and places of economic and social interest, in addition to being interested in core issues such as housing, roads and water supply.
Thursday´s agenda included the tour of Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz to the University of Moa Doctor Antonio Núñez Jiménez, the "Amiguitos del Che" children's house and the Tejar de Centeno, where he noted the importance of working with new generations and local production of construction materials.
In turn, Salvador Valdés Mesa, Vice President of the Republic of Cuba, exchanged on the territorial development of the municipality of Rafael Freyre; while Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, deputy prime minister, toured institutions such as the University of Medical Sciences and the Vladimir Ilich Lenin University Teaching Hospital.
Also the vice prime ministers Inés María Chapman, Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca and the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés, confirmed in Banes, Mayarí and Holguín, respectively, the production of food and the use of local capacities, among other topics of interest.
Government visits are intended to evaluate the progress of the main economic and social programs in each territory and are part of a systematic work style to facilitate interaction with local government representatives. (Source: ACN)
