To strengthen the link of the population with electronic commerce and bankarization, the Cuban Telecommunications Company (Etecsa) in the province of Holguín promotes the use of QR codes as an online payment alternative in the various entities of the territory.
The province has more than a hundred establishments that provide this service, among which are Expo-Holguín, Labiofam, the Gaviota hotel chain and the Commerce and Gastronomy sector in the 14 municipalities, said to the Cuban News Agency (ACN), Darquiri Sánchez Castro, head of the commercial department of Etecsa in the eastern territory.
He commented that the self-management of services by the companies themselves is of great importance, for which the QR code is obtained through a web page designed to carry out contracts between entities with the associated bank account and eliminate delays in current face-to-face procedures.
To request the contract, interested persons or companies must access the website www.transfermovil.etecsa.cu/contratación, register the necessary data for its validation, and once accepted, they will receive the accreditation annex via email.
The mobile wallet service, available soon in the Transfermóvil application, will contribute to the process of bankarization being developed in the country, since it makes it possible to manage money without the need for cards associated with bank accounts, he stressed.
This alternative will allow electronic payments to be made through the balance of the mobile phone, as long as it does not exceed 80,000 Cuban pesos and up to 5,000 in freely convertible currency, and can be used where the Transfermóvil platform is enabled, for example, Cimex and Comercio.
The Cuban Telecommunications Company promotes the development and generalization of the use of electronic payment channels as a priority of digital transformation, in addition to raising the quality of services provided through online gateways. (Source: ACN)
