In Holguín: Yamarex involved in school uniforms production

The basic business unit Confecciones Yamarex guarantees in the province of Holguín the annual production of around 400 thousand pieces of school uniforms, as part of the priorities of the Cuba’s light industry.
Despite the negative effects of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, which limits the purchase of inputs and raw materials, this state company takes advantage of science and technological innovation to maintain the vitality of the machinery that allows fulfill this commitment.
Its workshops currently prioritize the production of uniforms for primary and secondary education and the initial years of the technical-professional teaching, Matos Martínez Pérez, a specialist of that entity, told the Cuban News Agency.
He said that some 74,000 pieces of the more than 100,000 planned in this first stage have already been completed, up to complete the 400,000, according to the priorities established by the Ministry of Education and the gradual arrival of raw materials.
In this industry, whose machinery has been in operation for more than 40 years, production lines for lingerie and household trousseau are maintained, in addition to reusing remnants into objects with use value such as rugs and pot holders.
Yamarex, belonging to Confecciones Boga and with four workshops in this eastern territory, has among its clients the ministries of Domestic Trade, the Revolutionary Armed Forces and Public Health. (Source: ACN)
