Vice Minister of the Food Industry Tours UEB Acuanipe

With the aim to evaluate the operation of the production processes, the Vice Minister of the Food Industry of Cuba, Midalys Naranjo Blanco, on Tuesday visited the Acuanipe Business Unit (UEB) belonging to the Holguín Fishing Company in the municipality of Mayarí.
Accompanied by the governor of Holguín Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera, the Minister checked the actions carried out in the different areas of this UEB linked to food production.
Naranjo Blanco was interested in the state of the machinery, and highlighted the importance of regularly checking the cost sheets to maintain the proper balance of prices, according to the value of raw materials.
Likewise, she checked the process to be followed for the production of MDM sausages (milled boneless dough) and croquettes, and assessed the activities carried out in the processing area for the distribution of fish aimed at the preparation of food in Aquanipe.
Osvaldo Pérez , director of the UEB, explained that some of their products are destined for export, which benefits maintenance and attention to man, but they never lose sight of their social responsibility with the population.
The visitors also had an exchange with fishermen who make the catch used in the productions, to know the state of the fishing, for depressed periods, at the current time of the year.
“Acuanipe improves every day thanks to the efforts made by the working team. It is necessary to increase the production levels demanded by the population, despite the current limitations, but we know that with everyone's effort this goal will be possible to achieve," said Naranjo Blanco.
