Holguín pays tribute to the martyrs of the Cuban Revolution

A representation of Holguín residents commemorated the Day of the Martyrs of the Cuban Revolution on July 30 in tribute to those who offered their lives to the cause of the Revolution.
Regarding the date, instituted in remembrance of the murders of Frank País and Raúl Pujol in 1957, the ceremony was held before the monument erected in honor of those who fell in the fights against the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista.
Chaired by Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party in the province, participants recalled the revolutionary trajectory of both young men who with their example marked the path of duty.
In the historical site young people received the membership card of the Young Communist League, while some of its members were recognized with the condition Una Mejor Juventud, for their commitment to the tasks of the organization.
After 66 of the assassination of Frank País and Raúl Pujol, who dreamed of a more dignified Homeland, with equal rights and free from imperialist abuse, history and continuity joined hands to demonstrate that the example of the Cuban martyrs will endure in the new generations.
