The Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz visited places of economic and social interest in Gibara this Thursday, July 27, as part of the Government's work system aimed at maintaining a close relationship with the people.
Accompanied by the highest political and government authorities of Holguín, Marrero Cruz began his visit in Santa María brick and tile factory, whose main corporate purpose is to support the Housing Program, which was revitalized just over a month ago with a production capacity of 1,500 bricks and 200 slabs per day.
After being interested in the cost of production of the two lines, the Prime Minister warned about ensuring that they are not marketed at high prices and, specifically, to vulnerable cases. “It is not subsidizing the Program, but alternatives must be sought to reduce expenses incurred, so it is inevitable to seek beneficial options for the entity, but also for customers."
The delegation arrived at the agricultural area of Beola, belonging to the municipality of Rafael Freyre, which has an area of 2,100 hectares of very fertile land that is served by different productive forms, for which they have water and irrigation machines.
In this regard, the Prime Minister affirmed that it is necessary to continue recovering food production and pointed out that, little by little, the area can be filled with banana plantations and other root vegetables, which once harvested will contribute to lower prices in the market. At the same time, he praised the decision to involve young people from the Youth Labor Army in food production, the idea of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz.
They also visited Los Bajos beach, where the accommodation area of a camping base built there was officially inaugurated, which according to Marrero Cruz is "one of the best in the country."
The facility has 26 comfortable two-story cabins and 40 tents, each with capacity for six visitors; in addition to a game room, park for children, restaurant, doctor's office and cafeteria, among other facilities.
As a detail to be solved, the Prime Minister pointed out the access roads to this beach, for which work must be done, first of all, to achieve maritime transportation between Gibara and Los Bajos, in order to facilitate the arrival of locals to this place.
The Popular Camping Company in Holguín has 10 sun and beach and nature facilities; several of them with very comfortable tents and very affordable prices, also masonry, whose lodging is feasible for any pocket and others of a high standard, such as Playa Blanca, Silla de Gibara and Los Bajos.
