Seven people, including a pregnant woman, on Monday were struck by lightning in the mining region of Moa, Holguín province.
The incident occurred in front of the Nickel Union Services Company, Esuni, when a group of workers were waiting for transportation to return home.
The electric shock directly affected three workers, who were transferred to the Dr. Guillermo Luis Fernández Hospital, where they received urgent care by the medical staff.
According to Bárbaro Aguilera Pelegrín, health and safety specialist of the Emergency Group of the Comandante Pedro Sotto Alba Company, the worker with the greatest signs of involvement, who was revived at the place, went on strike again when she arrived at the hospital, and was immediately treated by Special Care specialists.
At this time the patient is reported in critical condition while the rest of the injured, including the pregnant woman, remain stable.
The highest authorities of the municipality are in the Guillermo Luis Hospital, where those affected are treated.
