Romerias de Mayo

The world festival of artistic youth, Romerías de Mayo, begins today in the eastern city of Holguín with a program that includes more than 16 events, concerts, exhibitions and talks, among other activities.

Until the 8 of this month, participants will be celebrating the three decades of this important cultural event, in which tradition and modernity come together.

Its organizing committee announced for the night of this day the presentation of the Holguín Symphony Orchestra and its guests at the Eddy Suñol theater with the program "Herencia Sonora 2023".

It will be followed by the colorful parade of cars, which makes a tour of the Avenida de Los Libertadores to the Bosque de los Héroes, where those present will be able to enjoy the pre-Romerías concert by the Cuban singer-songwriter Frank Delgado.

Rachel García, director of the provincial sector of Culture, highlighted among the most important moments the recital of the musician Raúl Paz together with Holguín lyrical singers.

Likewise, she mentioned the expected performances of David Blanco, Ray Fernández, Eduardo Sosa, Luis Barbería, Karamba, Nolberto Leyva and Raúl Prieto.

Another of the recommended activities is the personal exhibition "Memoria" (Memory), by Lesbia Vent Dumois, National Prize for Plastic Arts, who will also integrate the panel "Mural painting and its contemporary expression".

This edition of the Romerías is dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the birth of José Martí, to the fourth congress of the Hermanos Saiz Association and to the people and culture of Mexico. (Source: Prensa Latina)
