Unit one of the Lidio Ramón Pérez Power Plant in Felton, in the province of Holguín, joined the national grid today after a scheduled 25-day-long maintenance program.
Plant director Euclides Rodríguez Mejías confirmed that the block is already generating 200 MW as a result of the efforts to increase generation, which included almost 300 cleaning operations.
Considered one of Cuba’s most efficient electric stations, the Lidio Ramón Pérez power plant—the country’s largest—was officially inaugurated by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz on January 5, 2001.
