Felton Unit 1 in the final phase of scheduled maintenance

Unit one of the Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Power Plant, in Felton, in the Holguín municipality of Mayarí, is in the final phase of its scheduled maintenance, after 17 days of execution.


Euclides Rodríguez Mejías, general director of the Power Plant, told the ACN that the planned actions are going according to schedule and also assured that the fundamental activities in the boiler area are in the completion phase.

He added that in the next 48 hours they will begin the hydraulic test in the boiler, a process that will be carried out after cleaning all the aggregates, especially in the convective axis and the hopper.

Rodríguez Mejías informed that as part of the maintenance execution, they began on Tuesday the running-in of the dynamic equipment, which includes regenerative air heaters and gas recirculating fans.

Among the works carried out to date, it stands out the condenser washing while the adjustments and measurements continue in the turbine axis line, all according to the schedule.

Currently, the disassembly of the boiler aggregates of block two of the Felton Thermoelectric plant is being carried out, to later undertake the structural disassembly of the same to start its construction again.

The Lidio Ramón Pérez thermoelectric plant, considered among the most efficient in Cuba, was officially inaugurated by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz on January 5, 2001 and is currently the power plant with the largest installed generation capacity in the country.
