The health system in the province of Holguín maintains monitoring of respiratory diseases, as part of the protection protocols for vulnerable populations in this eastern territory.
People with disabilities, pregnant women, lactating women and the elderly, among other risk groups, are monitored through the Family Doctor-and-Nurse Program, which has more than a thousand offices in this eastern territory.
Yanelis Calviño, an official from the Provincial Directorate of Public Health, told ACN that during the winter months an increase in the incidence of these infections is common, which is why basic medical teams trained to classify patients are in the emergency rooms.
Faced with the threat of viral infections, there are specialized personnel for the treatment of patients and their favorable evolution in health institutions, both in the provincial capital and in the municipalities, Calviño added.
As part of these measures, initiatives are also promoted in vulnerable neighborhoods and communities with difficult access, aimed at contributing to health education and the identification of patients with asthma and allergies.
Holguín shows scientific results in this branch and promotes treatment alternatives for individuals with respiratory diseases, including natural and traditional medicine. (Source: ACN)
