Holguín: To prevent fraud and crime through better internal control

The need to work for the implementation of the Guidelines of the Economic and Social Policy of the Party and the Revolution related to the strengthening of accounting and the contract as a legal instrument, demanding the ethical performance of executives and workers, as well as reaching higher levels of Productivity and efficiency were the main alerts of the 14th National Verification of Internal Control in the province between September 19 and November 7.
In meeting held on Thursday at Expo-Holguín, chaired by Julio Cesar Estupiñán Rodríguez, Governor of the Province, Darlam Dalmau, Vice Comptroller General, and Amarilis Álvares, Provincial Comptroller, transcended deficiencies related to autonomy in companies, the participation of the labor collectives in the conformation of the planning, the income of the workers, the management model of the agricultural and forestry sector in urgent need of improvement, the energy carriers and the internal control.
In the verifications carried out on 20 entities to strengthen the State Business System, important issues were audited such as economic contracting, receivable and payable accounts, inventories, control of payroll payments according to scales, rates and payment systems, fuel control and transportation means, among others.
The audit had the participation of auditors, supervisors, and university students from accounting, law, and short-cycle audit courses.
Companies such as Suministros Agropecuarios, Forestal Moa, Hortícola Wilfredo Peña and the Taxis Cuba Ticket Management Base Business Unit had a negative impact on the results of control in the province.
Economic damages are mainly identified in the management and use of financing,and amount to more than 134 million pesos and more than six thousand MLC.
