Holguín hosts scientific event Expoambiente 2022

The 5th edition of Expoambiente 2022 that takes place in the city of Holguín since Thursday, aims at promoting the debate on the results of the environmental strategy of this eastern Cuban province, according to Dr.C Alejandro Torres Gómez de Cádiz Hernández, Citma delegate.
In the presence of officials from the Party and the Government in the province, Gómez de Cádiz urged to take advantage of the different scenarios of the scientific event, which on this occasion is committed to eco-innovation, as a means of sustainability in Holguín.
After the opening ceremony held in the vicinity of Plaza de la Marqueta Cultural Complex, participants appreciated the socio-economic fabric of the territory exhibited by different entities in terms of innovation and environmental management, including the dairy and meat industries, electrical and horticultural companies, Cupet and University of Medical Sciences.
The University of Medical Sciences presented the results of the academic Scientific Observatory on climate change issues as a learning resource and the fulfillment of the Life Task plan, not only in the institution but also in the incidence of the work of students in community projects and in healthcare institutions which are teaching units as part of environmental education.
The event began with the keynote speech "Green innovation: key to environmental sustainability", and the symposium Business and Urban Management and Natural Resources, as well as the workshops on scientific-technical results of environmental sustainability and climate change projects.
More than thirty papers related to renewable energy, ecosystem management, circular economy and sustainable production, among others, were presented at this conference.
The event, which will run until Friday, also extends to the entire province with activities to promote the sustainable use of natural resources from eco-innovation.
