The maintenance work in block one of the Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Plant (CTE) of Felton shows progress in its execution given the need to recover the generating capacity installed in this plant, on located in the Holguín municipality of Mayarí.
The fundamental points through which these actions go through until the definitive synchronization of the block, scheduled for next week, were evaluated on Thursday by the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, Cuban deputy prime minister, during a visit to this industry.
In the meeting, Valdés Menéndez was informed that in block one works are carried out mainly on the repair of the high pressure heaters, as well as on the leaks on the right side wall of the boiler, to which Valdés Menéndez noted that when the work is completed, the power plant has to guarantee stability in the generation of energy..
According to Víctor Manuel García Torres, director of the Power Plant Maintenance Company (EMCE) in Felton, the unit one is now in the process of technological cooling to start repair actions.
For his part, Vicente de la O Levy, Minister of Energy and Mines, said that it is necessary to work hard in the repair of the turbo group one of the CTE of Felton, because it is crucial to fulfill the strategy of the Electric Union in Cuba to reduce the level of effects on the population in December by recovering generation capacities in various plants in the country, so that, upon completion of the repair works at Felton, maintenance will begin at the Antonio Guiteras Power Plant in Matanzas.
At the same time, the dismantling of the block two boiler in that industry is carried out, as part of the rehabilitation process to which it is subjected, affected by a fire on July 8.
