Railway services restored in Holguín

The local railway services of Holguín were restored on this Thursday, after two years of recess due to the spread of the pandemic and the complex economic situation in the country.
The Antilla-Holguín train is scheduled to depart at 3:15 am from the coastal municipality, a route that should arrive at the provincial capital at 7:00 am, to return at 4:20 pm (departure) to the Antillean territory.
Lázaro Llanes Lemes, Deputy Director of Railways in Holguín, assured that after an analysis in the Ministry of Finance and Prices, the fare for this route is 60.00 MN for adults and 30.00 MN for minors.
He added that the Holguín-Las Tunas train leaves at 8:20 am and returns at 12:35 pm (departure), with arrival time at 3:30 pm. It will cost 50.00 MN for the elderly and 30.00 MN for children, but it could still vary, depending on the economic sustainability of the locomotives and the increase in the number of passengers in the rail services.
The sale of daily bulletins will continue, as well as their purchase on board the train for places where there are no stations. The Holguín-Antilla train will run every day, with the exception of Wednesday, a day that will be dedicated to car maintenance, while the Holguín-Las Tunas train will only run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Likewise, the express service for the transportation of luggage with more than 70 cm was included. The train will be traveling with only four cars and as the flow of passengers increases, one more will be added.
