Canadian airline OWG began direct flights to Holguín

Canada’s Off We Go (OWG) airline company began commercial operations with Cuba with the arrival in Holguín of the Boeing 737-400 flight from that country.
The OWG flight has two daily flights, from Thursday to Sunday, to Holguín, Villa Clara, Varadero and Cayo Coco key.
This first flight brought over 150 passengers on board, 85 of whom are tourists booking hotels at Guardalavaca tourist center, said Havanatur T&T North East Office Elizabeth Garcia.
With these two new flights from Canada, the figure rises to eight from that market, which together with those from Italy, Germany, the Bahamas and Cancun and the nine charters from Miami, the figure reaches 23 weekly flights of foreign aircrafts to the " Frank País " international airport of Holguín.
In this regard, Yoel Hechavarría, general coordinator of the Holguín air terminal, announced that for the second half of July, operations should be increased at the air terminal with six other trips announced from the United States, while the restart of regular flights with American Airlines is planned for November.
Some 360 daily visitors are expected to come to Holguín every week, which will offer the progressive recovery of the local tourist sector after two year under the COVID-19 pandemic.
