The Provincial Directorate of Housing of Holguín expands the actions aimed at addressing the construction situation of the buildings located in the so-called vulnerable communities of this eastern province.
César Paterson Rodríguez, deputy director of this branch in the territory, told the ACN that this year the activities are extended to other locations in the Holguín municipalities, previously selected by the corresponding Housing directorates and offices of the Labor and Social Security Body, according to the conditions of its housing fund.
Paterson Rodríguez added that the municipal administrations designated around 93 communities to work in this first semester, together with their inhabitants, in improving their quality of life through the availability of a more comfortable and safer home.
In this regard, bricklayers, carpenters and formworkers residing in these communities have been called to support the work.
During the period, important actions have been carried out such as the elimination of dirt floors and the securing of weak roofs, in addition to the repairs to preserve the property through state plans, subsidies and own efforts.
Attention to mothers with three or more children is also prioritized in these communities, as part of the demographic dynamics developed in Cuba to stimulate the birth rate of women of childbearing age.
In addition, he added, work is being done on the basis of making it possible to obtain resources for construction through forms of local development, which can facilitate the production of materials such as aggregates and bricks.
This program began in 15 constituencies of the main municipality in the middle of the previous year, along with other Holguín organizations participating in the urbanization process of the communities, such as the Electric Company, Hydraulic Resources and Roads Company.
