In Holguín, the battle is for physical production

The stability of working women in their positions, as an important working force in the different sectors of the economy, continues to be the focus of attention of the authorities of the province of Holguín, who promote alternatives for the opening of spaces in state institutions destined for care of preschool children.
In a meeting to analyze the progress of the main indicators of the economy in the province, held on Tuesday at ExpoHolguín fairgrounds, the approval of the proposals for the provision of day care homes, an alternative modality of the day care center for the benefit of workers from the V.I. Lenin , the Lucía Íñiguez and the Octavio de la Concepción de la Pedraja hospitals.
Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party in the territory, participated in the meeting where he was informed of the favorable behavior of sales, income, profits and the recovery of other indicators, such as the number of companies that managed to recover from the losses.
Santiesteban Velázquez praised the results of various economic indicators, but insisted on increasing efforts to achieve physical production, which has an impact on the well-being of the population.
He also called for giving attention to young people, giving them participation in solving problems and making decisions in entities.
Regarding the generation of electricity in the country, he said that it remains tense; hence the need for savings in the state and residential sectors, and referred to a package of measures that will be implemented shortly for such purposes.
For his part, Julio César Estupiñán Rodríguez, governor of Holguín, insisted on increasing the production of goods and the generation of services, on reviewing cost sheets in order to reduce prices, and on organizing production processes.
He added that even though the province concluded the consultation process of the Family Code Project in a satisfactory manner, actions must be continued so that the necessary knowledge of this provision is achieved, as a result of popular intelligence and the deep democratic character of the revolutionary process.
