Holguín marks World Environment Day

"One Earth" is the slogan that presides over the activities that take place in Holguín in greeting to World Environment Day, which is celebrated every June 5.
Norkis Ochoa Aguilera, coordinator for the Environmental Education Program, highlighted among the actions the educational activities in different ecosystems; environmental sanitation and reforestation in the coastal coastline and the mountainous massif; the Sustainable Livestock Workshop to take place in Gibara and the Expo Environment 2022 event, to be held next November.
The main celeration for the anniversary will take place on June 3 at the José de la Luz y Caballero headquarters of the University of Holguín, where outstanding people and entities in environmental protection will be distinguished.
Although the achievements obtained by province in environmental matters; specialists of the CITMA Delegation in Holguín recognize the relevance of continuing to advance in the Life Task plan, in which it is necessary to increase scientific knowledge, a greater link between the territories and strengthen local development strategies to deal with climate change.
