Nicaragua's Minister of Finance and Public Credit Ivan Acosta assured that this country will have the best hospital network in Central America as a result of a loan from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI).
The goal is to create the best and most modern hospital network in Central America, Acosta said.
At a press conference along with Presidential Adviser for health issues Sonia Castro, the minister stated that with these funds expansion and improvement works will be developed in six hospitals in the country.
Castro said that the income capacity in those facilities, two in Managua and four in departments, will increase by 400 beds.
The program for the use of these financial resources also includes a new oncology ward at the Berta Calderon maternal hospital, in Managua, and the epidemiological laboratory at the San Juan de Dios hospital, in Esteli (north).
