Students at the University of Medical Sciences in Holguín gathered on Thursday to reaffirm their support for the Cuban Revolution and the response offered by the Government of the province to the request of a group of protesters who intend to carry out a "peaceful" march called for November 15.
The medical students expressed their support for the government's refusal as it is a march that responds to interference interests, destabilization and chaos on the island to continue discrediting its socialist system and the Cuban government through subversive and hate campaigns among compatriots.
Luis Rafael Gámez Leyva, president of the University Student Federation at the University said: “We reject any attempt of demonstration that violates the constitutional order. We will never allow the rights of a group to intercede with the rights of the majority, as stipulated in our Magna Carta, endorsed on February 24, 2019 by 86.85 percent of the voters. We will never be accomplices or participants in acts that seek to prevent any possibility of well-being, individual and collective development, citizen tranquility and peace in our Homeland”.
The young students agreed that those who use “pacifist” reasons and at the same time respond to the interests of a counterrevolutionary group, backed and financed by the US government, and that in the most public and deliberate way they expose their purposes of "regime change" for Cuba, they cannot and never will be the voice of this people or of this student mass.
