The Cuban Workers Confederation (CTC) in Holguín has spoken out against the actions carried out by the U.S. government against the Cuban Revolution for more than 60 years, which has intensified its actions in recent times, regardless of the damage aggravated by the pandemic.
"This organization firmly rejects the acts of disorder that took place in various cities of the country, supported by a media campaign that tries to impose an opinion matrix aimed at delegitimizing the governance of the Cuban Revolution," said Yanara Guerrero Batista, member of the Provincial Bureau of the CTC in Holguín.
The United States government is determined to provoke a social outburst in Cuba, based on the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade and the adoption of 243 measures dictated during the administration of Donald Trump, which hinder the development programs of the country and affect the well-being of workers and their families.
On behalf of the trade union movement, Guerrero Batista expressed the firm support for the revolutionary and patriotic response of our heroic people and ratified the commitment to the defense of the Revolution, maximizing the growth of efficiency in the production of goods and services that allow satisfying the demands of the people.
“We denounce the humanitarian intervention campaign driven by the pretext of the situation generated by the pandemic and the objective limitations caused by the economic war of the US against Cuba. Cubans are aware of its true purpose and we do not want such help. We demand the US government to put an end to the economic, financial and commercial blockade on the island, ” she said.
“We thank the trade union organizations and friends of the world the messages of solidarity and support, and the encouragement to keep raised with dignity the flags of independence, sovereignty and freedom”, she concluded.
