Decree on the commercialization of agricultural products entered into force

The Decree-Law 35 on the Commercialization of Agricultural Products approved by the Council of Ministers began to be implemented this Saturday in Holguín, with the aim of establishing regulations and ordering such process, whether of a wholesale or retail nature, to improve food production.
"For this stage the contracting committee modifies its structure, which was previously chaired by the Provincial Delegate of Agriculture. From today it will be headed by the Governor of the province and in the municipalities, the Intendants," said at press conference held on Friday, Fidel Leyva Anache, legal officer of the Provincial Delegation of Agriculture.
The members of the agricultural system, productive units, peasants and the organizations involved in commercialization, such as the Dairy and Meat Companies, as well as Finance and Prices, Physical Planning, among others, will participate in the contracting process.
To strengthen food production in this eastern territory, a re-contracting process is being developed throughout the province, since all producers and landowners must have a contract from the different destinations approved by the Contracting Committee.
Much expectation has awakened the commercialization of beef and milk by the producers themselves, which requires the fulfillment of a group of requirements in order to implement the aforementioned process.
Other new forms of commercialization are through the leasing of premises and resources to provide more quality and quantity in the offers and lower the prices of the products, eliminating intermediaries.
The Decree 35 states that a producer may trade directly with his client, so it requires an exhaustive preparation of this legal document and economic and financial terms, since he must have bank accounts in national and freely convertible currencies.
This new way of commercialization will allow the acquisition of inputs by producers, who will be able to seek offers in other markets and will not depend solely on the services of Agricultural Supplies.
In the event that an entity, after agreeing to the commercialization, does not have the logistical or financial capacity to assume the production, it must inform the Contracting Committee in a timely manner to find a way to negotiate the merchandise.
The country's top management approved 63 measures aimed at recovering agricultural production and Holguín is working in the implementation of 13 of them with immediate effect.
