Holguín prepares for health intervention with vaccines candidates Abdala and Soberana 02

The health intervention with the vaccine candidates Abdala and Soberana 02 in risk population groups will begin in the province of Holguín in the third week of June with people between 60 and 69 years of age, who will receive three doses in an a short vaccination cycle (zero, 14 and 28 days).
Dr. Luis Orlando Castro González, deputy director general of Public Health in the territory, said that some 103 thousand 609 people from Holguín, between those ages, will be administered "Abdala.
By the end of June, it is scheduled to include 330 thousand 247 patients between 40 to 59 years of age, who will receive a similar number of doses of the vaccine candidate Soberana 02, whose technical name is FINLAY- FR-2 anti SARS- CoV-2.
This group will be inoculated with " Soberana 02", a vaccine candidate developed by the Finlay Vaccine Institute (IFV), from June 30 to August in a similar vaccination cycle (0, 14 and 28 days).
Castro González noted that to ensure this health intervention, a survey was undertaken in each clinical site, with a view to their certification before the beginning of the inclusion of new risk groups to protect with Cuban vaccines.
The third dose of "Abdala" will be administered this week to health workers and students of Medical Sciences, with whom the anti-COVID-19 health intervention began on May 10 in the province, whose first stage included other risk groups.
