The Copa Airlines airline informed the cancellation "until further notice" of the flights from/to Holguín and Santa Clara with Panama, due to the reduction in arrival of international travelers decreed by Cuba to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus in the island.
A press release note from the company said that all three authorized weekly flights will operate from/to the Jose Marti Airport in Havana on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
During the first weeks of January, Copa Airlines will operate special flights to allow passengers in Cuba to return to their cities of origin,’ said the press release, published on the company’s website.
Travelers who completed the first part of their round-trip itinerary should contact the reservation center or airline offices.
For the return of Cubans, it is necessary to previously communicate with the Cuban Consulate in Panama, if they need to return to their country of origin, says the report.
Other options offered to travelers are a refund for the value of the ticket or the issuance of a travel certificate with an additional 20 percent to the price of the ticket.
