These products are made from fruits and plants native to the Caribbean area and other regions, including ginger, cherry and blackberries, said Ignacio Díaz, a researcher and promoter of the medicinal wine production.
Under the brand name Vimarro, fruit wines are marketed with minimum levels of alcohol, which counteract discomfort and joint pain and contribute to increase the quality of life of adult patients with these pathologies, he added.
In Holguín, research is also carried out to incorporate moringa in maceration processes, in order to expand the variety and use of liqueurs and promote artisanal production, as a tradition inherited from Spain and rooted in Cuba from the nineteenth century.
Since 1994, the Club de Vinicultores Bayado in the eastern territory works in the production of medicinal wines from fruits and plants little known in society, which is one of the main results of the group at a national level. / ACN
