The epidemiological situation becomes more complex in the province of Holguín with the report in the last hours of another four positive cases to COVID-19, one autochthonous and three imported in the municipalities of Urbano Noris and Calixto García, respectively.
With this new case of transmission of the new coronavirus in San Germán, the territory totals six, while the number of imported ones increases to 16, a group that includes the traveler who caused the outbreak in "Urbano Noris”, which calls for extreme control measures at the border, in the community and throughout the system of confrontation, prevention and control established against this highly contagious disease.
Health authorities are currently working in eight outbreak controls in the municipalities of Holguín, Gibara, Rafael Freyre, Banes, Mayarí, Calixto García and Urbano Noris, where two areas of the city and several isolated homes are restricted in movement due to COVID-19 and carry out various actions of intensive epidemiological surveillance, including active house-to-house research.
Other measures adopted include the closure of units of self-employed workers and the state sector, which will be limited to preparing meals and light food to take away, as well as the fumigation of all streets and the entry and exit points in the two modified quarantine areas.
It is established that travelers arriving from abroad who go to their families homes must comply with isolation at the place without receiving visits and taking to the extreme disinfection measures. After the fifth PCR, if it is negative, visitors will be able to go out and receive visits; otherwise they would be violating a norm established in the biosafety protocol, for which they can be penalized.
In accordance with the provisions of the Provincial Health Directorate "each of the violations of regulations that constitutes a risk of spreading respiratory diseases or other transmissible diseases, will be the reason for the application of the Current Health Legislation, according to the magnitude of the infraction, it will go from the imposition of a fine to the referral to the Prosecutor's Office”.
Therefore, it is important to raise the responsibility of all, since the opening of the country's borders the entry of people from abroad arriving at the airports of the country is frequent.
Since last November 2, the Frank País international airport of Holguín has been operating with flights from Haiti, Canada and Mexico.
Until November 19, 13 aircrafts have landed here with more than 11 thousand passengers, of which five were positive to COVID-19 at the border, whose samples were processed in the Molecular Biology Laboratory inaugurated at the V.I. Lenin hospital.
Since the opening of this center on November 3 to 19, it had processed more than 4,745 samples from the provinces of Holguín, Guantánamo and Las Tunas, with a positivity of 0.4 percent.
