The Center for Immunology and Biopreparations of Holguín (Cibho) is getting ready to start the clinical trial of CBA-100, a natural product elaborated by two Holguín scientists committed to counteracting the consequences of SARS-CoV- 2.

After concluding the academic year corresponding to the 2018-2023 five-year period, and in accordance with the statutes that govern the operation of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba (ACC), four health professionals from the province of Holguín became new full members or young associates of this institution.

Holguín closed 2023 with the third lowest infant mortality rate in the country, achieving 4.7 per thousand live births, according to preliminary data.

For the first time in Cuba and successfully, Heberprot-P, a national growth factor, was applied to a pediatric patient prior to a skin transplant in the central province of Sancti Spíritus.
