Project in Cuba seeks to improve sexual and reproductive health

Consultants from PAHO and the World Health Organization (WHO)’s regional office explained during the project’s presentation on Tuesday that the program seeks to mitigate the increase in the incidence of sexually transmitted infections, teenage pregnancy, and infant mortality, among other related healthcare problems.
One of the advisors, Doctor Susana Borroto, explained that the project will improve sexual and reproductive health and neonatal care in Havana, Guantánamo, and Villa Clara provinces.
Spanish Ambassador to Cuba, Ángel Martín, recognized the work done by Cuba in healthcare and reassured his country’s commitment to support the development of that sphere, Cuban News Agency informed.
