The members of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) in Holguín make remarkable contributions to health through the donation of food for the diet of patients with different pathologies.
The project includes the oncology ward of the Octavio de la Concepción de la Pedraja Pediatric Hospital.
Amaurys Velázquez, representative of the ANAP in the eastern territory, told the ACN news agency that products delivered include viands and lamb meat, essential for the diet of infants, as well as jams and sweets.
Dr. René Nuñez, head of oncology service of the Holguín pediatric hospital, stressed the importance of these donations for the health of the children, whose basic diet is based on puree of viands and meat.
This contribution of farmers also extends to other institutions such as the Maternal Home 8 de Marzo, the House of children without family protection and the Modesto Fornaris Psychopedagogical Medical Center, located in the provincial capital. / ACN
