Health authorities of the province of Holguín increase the protection measures of the population in the face of the increase in new positive cases of COVID-19, mainly originated from the entry of travelers from abroad that may generate local transmission and make the epidemiological situation of the territory more complex.
Amarilis Pupo Zaldívar, director of the Holguín Provincial Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology, said to the Radio Angulo local radio station that eight positive cases were confirmed this Tuesday, six imported belonging to the municipalities of Moa and the provincial capital.
According to the digital publication, the two autochthonous cases are linked to a confirmed contact in the Manuel Díaz Legrá health area, in the head city, while the other corresponds to the municipality of Cacocum, both without specifying the source of infection.
Pupo added that in the new normal, 91 positive cases to the new SAR-CoV-2 coronavirus have been detected in the province, of which 64 are imported cases and 27 autochthonous.
As part of the confrontation with Covid-19, health authorities in the province increase actions in the control of outbreaks, mainly in the active survey performed to patients and families, as well as the strict monitoring of isolation measures and PCR studies of the contacts of confirmed cases under surveillance in the community.
