The Cuadernos Papiro publishing house in Holguín, specializing in the manufacturing of art books, will launch five literary novelties at the International Book Fair in Havana, to be held in the Cuban capital from February 6 to 16.
With the Aldabón de la Periquera on its cover, it stands out for the showiness of its design the book of poems “Holguín, ínsula embrujada” by a group of authors, a gift from the publishing house to the northeastern city on the 300th anniversary of its constitution as a town to be celebrated on April 4, 2020.
The art-book “Orishas. Leyendas y tradiciones,” which compiles the characteristics, offerings and pataquíes of seven of the deities of the Yorubá Pantheon, will generate great expectation among the public, according to Arias Silveira.
The titles "Two Homelands" (Dos Patrias), a selection of the Free Verses of José Martí, translated into the English language, and the poems "La casa que Habla", by the Mexican Denise Montiel, are also among the books to be presented.
Cuadernos Papiro stands out for offering readers, in addition to the literary richness of their productions, the possibility of acquiring a piece of artistic and collectible value, for its exquisite handmade manufacturing.
These paper-manufactured books are printed by the publishing house on machines of the nineteenth century.
