Ediciones Holguín at Havana Book Fair

feria del libro 2018Ediciones Holguín, one of the oldest publishing houses in Cuba, will be present at the International Book Fair of Havana, scheduled from the 1st to 11 of February in the Cuban capital.
The poetic anthology El Huracán and La Palma, by Delfín Prats and the text Imposeída, by the Cuban-American writer Mercedes de Acosta, whose work translated into Spanish for the first time on the island, are among the books to be launched during the Book Fair.

Lourdes González, director of the institution, said the book Pintura fresca, by local writer Rubén Rodríguez, as well the re-edition of La princesa Dayán, by the Nigerian Nigerian writer, of children's literature, will also be available to the public,
To this catalog will be added, in addition, Geometría de Lovachevski, by Holguin writer José Luis García, a science fiction book written in sonnet, awarded with the National Prize of Criticism 2017.

She added that the Lezama Lima hall will host on February 5 the presentation of these volumes, with the participation of editors José Luis Serrano, Fidel Fidalgo and Eugenio Marrón, recognized for their contributions to culture in the eastern territory.

Ediciones Holguín was founded in 1986 with the publication of the books laureate in the first edition of the City Prize, in the genres of poetry, testimony, narrative and essay adding more than 600 titles in these 31 years.

The cultural institution has won several awards in the area of design and editing, including the 2006 National Criticism Award to the book Ataxia Espinocerebelosa tipo Dos, by Doctor Luis Velázquez.
