The Contemporary Dance Company Codanza, directed by the teacher Maricel Godoy, will stage from December 6 to 8 the works Casita, El segundo Sexo and Ofrenda de Toro, as part of its season of presentations at the Eddy Suñol Theater in the city of Holguín.
Casita, by the American Robert J. Priore, explores the familiar interiority and the doubts of the individual, based on autobiographical nuances of the creator himself. While El segundo Sexo, performed by the company's female dancers, allowed Vianki González to win the second place in the Codanza Choreography Prize, during the last edition of the Codanza North Atlantic Dance Competition and Vladimir Malakhov Grand Prix.
Finally, Ofrenda de Toro, choreography by Rafael Portelles, performed by the male dancers, and script and general concept of Edgar Ariel, recreates myths of the Greco-Roman world in what could be an apotheosis of beauty, leadership and courage.
These works, the prelude to the company's presentations in Europe next year, have characterized Codanza's work in the search of strength, vitality and dexterity.
