32nd Romerías de Mayo announced in Holguín

The 32nd Romerías de Mayo, an event to be held from May 2 to 8 in Holguín under the slogan “cultural industries in favor of young art”, was announced on Tuesday at press conference held in the city of Holguín.

Armando Ruiz Olivera, president of the AHS in the province, confirmed the participation of 97 foreign delegates from México, Canada, Venezuela and Perú, along with more than 350 Cuban artists and 100 guests.

The program includes more than 20 cultural spaces, such as Memoria Nuestra Congress and the literary event Palabras Compartidas (Shared Words), which will pay tribute to the 130th anniversary of José Martí's fall in combat, with book presentations and panels, while the cultural space Babel will celebrate its 30th anniversary with exhibitions and theoretical events. Cámara Azul will commemorate the 45th anniversary of the New Latin American Film Festival with film screenings, panels and talks. 

The performing arts will have a presence in the streets through Street Theater and Dance in Public Landscapes, with companies such as Teatro Adentro and Proyecto Sangre Gitana, and the event Bloguerías will analyze the impact of artificial intelligence on cultural industries, and the Raíces event will highlight Haitian, Chinese and artisanal traditions.

Yakelin Tapia, director of the Provincial Culture Sector, highlighted the growth of foreign representation and the strengthening of institutional alliances, reaffirming the festival's international character.
