The National Crafts Fair, sponsored by the subsidiary of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC) in Holguín, will take place from December 3 to 12 in the eastern city with the participation of more than 100 local exhibitors from Las Tunas and La Habana.

Headquartered in the Expo-Holguín fairgrounds and 50 promotional and sales areas, the event will enable the commercialization of textile, footwear, goldsmith, leather, fiber, ceramic, glass, ornamental plants, household items, among others, complying with health measures to prevent COVID-19, Manuel Hernández, director of the FCBC in the territory, said to the ACN.

The Fair will also hold business rounds, fashion catwalks and visual arts exhibitions in greeting to the 45, 60, 35 and 40 anniversaries of the People’s Power, UNEAC, the Hermanos Saíz Association and the Cuban Association of Artisans and Artists (ACAA), respectively.

Hernández Ramos commented that this year’s event will show the import and export potential of the Fund as a socialist state company, in line with the new actors in the Cuban economy, also offering the possibilities of acquisition to the population from affordable prices.

He pointed out that the participation of non-state management forms with a wide variety of offers is among the novelties of this edition of the Fair.

On the other hand, Hilda Santiesteban, president of the Delegation of the Holguín-Las Tunas Chamber of Commerce, said that this is an opportunity to show local talent and promote the services of the FCBC, with good references in its import management, as well as a wide range of activities to provide answers to internal solutions with quality.

The National Crafts Fair joins the commercial events of the Fund for Cultural Assets in Holguín, which also carries out Art for Mom, Art for Dad and the International Iberoarte Fair, the most important of the country's expo-sale spaces outside of La Habana.
