Social communicators in Holguín promotes campaign on its 30th anniversary

The social communicators of the province of Holguín are developing an extensive promotional campaign on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of their Association in Cuba, a date that will be commemorated throughout the country on June 25.

Given the restrictions imposed by COVID-19, the organization's membership will celebrate the date based on the professional competencies and the activities planned by their associates in their respective groups, told ACN José Enrique Agüero Pérez, president of this Association in Holguín.

The campaign is distinguished by media and public relations actions aimed mainly at recognizing the work of the members and the strategic alliances with different institutions that have accompanied the Association in these three decades.

Activities are planned to recognize the role of communication and organization as part of the economic and social development of the country, since the date comes at a time when it is ratified as a fundamental pillar in the improvement of the nation, also conceived in the main policies and normative documents as a strategic resource for the direction of the State and the Government, at the service of citizen participation, Agüero said.

Based on their work, its members insist on the role of managers as agents of change, through specific actions and attitudes that guide the efforts and budget of companies and institutions in a strategic way, to use communication based on the fulfillment of organizational objectives.

Created on June 25, 1991, in the midst of the so-called Special Period, when the country needed to restructure the economy by attracting tourism and foreign investment, the Cuban Association of Social Communicators rescued and promoted areas such as Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations.

The Cuban business and institutional system has renewed the performance of the communicational image, thanks to the advice and provision of services of the Association together with the different Faculties and related careers that extend throughout the Island.
