Solidarity Aid from Venezuela to Cuba after Tornado

barcoA Venezuelan Navy vessel arrived in Havana Friday with vehicles, construction materials and other resources to support recovery efforts after the January 27 destructive tornado that battered areas of Havana.
 
Cuban and Venezuelan authorities at the Port of Havana welcomed the donation, which was part of the friendship ties that join both governments and peoples.
 
The motorboat commander, Vladimir Maldonado, said they arrived in Cuba by orders of President Nicolas Maduro to assist the Cuban brothers in the face of the weather phenomenon which left several dead, some 200 injured and severe effects on housing and basic services.
 
Maldonado pointed out that solidarity aid is reaching Cuba while Venezuela is suffering a political and economic aggression led by the United States.
 
Antonio Carricarte, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, thanked the Bolivarian Revolution for its gesture.
 
The official took the opportunity to reiterate the Cuba´s support for the Venezuelan government and people in the face of internal and external actions aimed at imposing a change of regime in the South American country. /PL
