Cuba and US Geographers Review Maritime Security Agreements

Scientists from Cuba and the United States reviewed agreements to improve maritime navigation safety, as part of a meeting to be held until next Saturday in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported in Havana.
 
Cuba was represented by the National Office of Hydrography and Geodesy, while the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) attended the meeting on behalf of the United States. They reviewed the implementation of actions contained in the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in these areas.
 
The document, signed by the two countries in March 2016, also identifies future actions to be developed over the next two years, according to Cubaminrex.
 
The representatives of the two countries ratified their will to continue to foster cooperation and the exchange of experiences and scientific information for the benefit of maritime security in the space shared by Cuba and the United States.
 
The bilateral meeting was held as part of the 19th Conference of the Commission.
